While studying in the Word today, I stumbled into Acts and began reading about the Church. As I read I realized that I had, in fact, not just stumbled into Acts but was lead there by the Lord.
As I read a thought came to mind. Jesus did not participate in the physical sense in the building of the Church. This task was placed upon the shoulders of the Disciples. It was at this point that I realized, Jesus made disciples, disciples built the church.
I bring this thought to your attention with this in mind. I hope many youth leaders and pastors read this because I believe God would have us to know this. We are to make disciples! We have to give the kids the essentials that are necessary to go into all the world and make disciples.
I challenge all youth leaders and pastors to prayerfully consider this as you plan next years curriculum and activity schedule. Build your calendar around the idea that we must make disciples. Activity is good and it encourages bonding as a group and relationship building; but I believe there is nothing more important than that great commission to go into all the world and preach the Gospel of Christ. This can’t happen if we fail in our responsibilities to make disciples.
The future of the Church depends on our actions NOW! Let us not fail to answer the call and seek first the Kingdom of Heaven. LET’S MAKE DISCIPLES!!

Today is a great day and I am excited about what God is doing at West Asheville Church of God, especially in the youth department. For the last two Sundays the Holy Ghost has fell on our A.M. services and it seems the teens are right in the thick of things. The true fact is that if these teens are not empowered by the Holy Ghost as they walk through these years they don't stand hardly a chance. Satan is fighting us harder now more than ever and I believe it is because there is a movement of God in our youth. I see a fire burning in these kids and I expect fully that it is going to spread through out the entire church. God is on the move at WACOG and it is an exciting thing to see. If anyone reading this blog does not have a church to go to Sunday, may I recomend West Asheville Church of God! If you have a teen or young child, WACOG is a great place to be. We have a great staff of youth workers from the nursey up. I am working on a great lesson for the teens Sunday, entitled the taste test. It is going to be a very visual lesson with a look into Gods word to see what it says about the taste of different lifestyles. Join us at 10:00 AM. If you have never been to our church before and you are 13-18 years old, find me, Mark Lowe and I will take you to where you need to be. AND< BRING MOM AND DAD!!!!
